TeachNZ scholarships, study awards and study grants

The TeachNZ website provides information on its awards, study grants and sabbaticals including application dates, eligibility requirements and assessment criteria.

TESSOL scholarships

The Ministry of Education offers tuition fees scholarships for study towards a Teaching English in Schools for Speakers of Other Languages (TESSOL) qualification. Scholarship information is posted to schools in October each year and applications need to be received by the end of October in the same year.

Teacher-led Innovation Fund (TLIF)

TLIF supports teams of qualified teachers from early learning services, ngā kōhanga reo, schools and kura to collaboratively develop innovative practices that improve learning outcomes.

Learning support teachers’ study awards and scholarships

The Ministry supports teachers and specialists to develop their skills in working with children and young people with additional learning needs.

Prime Minister's Education Excellence Awards 

The annual Prime Minister’s Education Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in early learning, primary and secondary schooling. They’re open to any group, team or partnership from a school, kura or early learning service.
