New content includes years 0-6 English and years 0-8 maths learning areas in the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) and years 0-6 Te Reo Rangatira and years 0-8 Pāngarau in Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA).
The curriculum content published today follows widespread consultation. Valuable feedback from the education sector has helped to shape the curriculum to ensure it is knowledge-rich, clear, consistent and ready to be brought to life in schools and kura.
New resources included
Alongside the curriculum material a host of resources have also been created to support teachers and kaiako to embed the new curriculum into programmes of learning.
Schools and kura will be supported every step of the way as they start to implement this curriculum from the start of 2025.
We will soon be consulting on the updated drafts of the years 7-13 English and years 9-13 maths and statistics learning areas and new drafts of the years 7-13 Te Reo Rangatira and Years 9-13 Pāngarau wāhanga ako.
