What the scholarship covers

We fund the Pacific Education Foundation scholarships to encourage Pacific students into further education. The foundation’s board members reflect the modern Pacific Island community and its various cultures.

There are 12 Pacific Education Foundation scholarships available in 2025. Scholarships are available for applicants in any field of study. There are 2 types of scholarships available:

  • a $5,000 grant for full-time study at undergraduate level
  • a $10,000 grant for full-time study at postgraduate level.

Who can apply

To be eligible for these scholarships, you must be

  • enrolled full-time in a tertiary institution in New Zealand
  • be of indigenous Pacific Island descent
  • be a New Zealand citizen or resident and
  • be involved in your local community and, where possible, your Pacific community.

Applications from mature students are welcome.
