Ministry of Education New Zealand

We publish provisional rolls in September. School boards have until 15 November 2024 to request a review if they disagree with our estimate.

What information you need to apply

The application must include the following:

  • A completed application form that shows our roll estimate is different to your estimate by 5% or more. You must clearly explain why your published provisional roll is insufficient for the upcoming school year.
  • A list of confirmed pre-enrolments for the following year that includes name, date of birth, start date and Ministry of Education (MOE) funding year level.
  • A summary of your current roll sorted by MOE funding year from your student management system (SMS). If you can't provide this you will need to explain why when submitting your application.

Here are examples of acceptable formats for current roll information.
