We use different formulas depending on school type to calculate classroom release time for permanent unit holders.

A provisional entitlement is calculated using the average number of eligible permanent unit holders from the previous year. We will then recalculate your entitlement using the current year-to-date payroll data around April each year. Your classroom release time for permanent unit holders will be the greater of the provisional CRT for permanent unit holders or CRT based on the year-to-date calculation.

The initial 2025 provisional calculation uses 2023 payroll data which will be revised in April.
