New daily bus and technology bus contracts began in Term 1 2022.
The contracts are for an initial term of 6 years with 2 3-year rights of renewal.

This list of providers does not include:
- direct resourced bus services provided by schools
- transport provided by Māori-medium schools
- urban public transport services provided by regional authorities.
Daily technology and school bus providersOur procurement approach
The procurement of bus services provided by us was a 2-tender approach. This allowed fair access to government contracts for suppliers of all sizes.
Tender 1 made approximately 10% of individual routes available to allow smaller regional suppliers to compete for routes.
Tender 2 was for larger transport providers and offered all remaining routes in groups.
