Education Amendment Bill (No 2) – Supplementary Order Papers

This paper sought approval from the Cabinet Social Wellbeing Committee to issue drafting instructions for supplementary order papers to amend the Education Amendment Bill (No 2). It recommended that supplementary order papers be drafted to postpone the start date for the new planning and reporting framework for school boards of trustees (including transitional provisions), and to make the process for changing the names of New Zealand universities clearer and more robust.

Education Amendment Bill (No 2) – Supplementary Order Papers: Approval for Release

This paper sought approval from the Cabinet Legislation Committee to the release of two Supplementary Order Papers (SOPs) to amend the Education Amendment Bill (No 2) (the Bill). The first SOP amended clause 19 of the Bill, and added a new clause to postpone the planning and reporting framework for school boards of trustees (including transitional provisions). The second SOP inserted a new clause to the Bill to make the process for changing the names of New Zealand universities clearer and more robust.
