Carlton School enrolment scheme consultation

Closing date

Opened

Overview

In collaboration with the Carlton School Board, Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | The Ministry of Education has developed a proposed enrolment scheme for Carlton School.

The purpose of an enrolment scheme of a state school is:

  • to avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, at the school and
  • to ensure the selection of applicants for enrolment at the school is carried out in a fair and transparent manner and
  • to enable the Secretary to make the best use of existing networks of state schools.

The proposed scheme would become effective for enrolment in 2025. A copy of the proposed scheme is available below.

As part of this process, we are formally consulting with whānau, hāpu, iwi, and with all people living in the area for which the school is a reasonably convenient school. Please note, the enrolment scheme could affect which school a student will be entitled to enrol in.

Provide any comments about the proposed Carlton School enrolment scheme that you would like to be included in the final report.

Once all submissions have been collated, we will work with the Carlton School Board to make amendments deemed appropriate to address any concerns.
