The 3 Crown entities we monitor:
- Education New Zealand
- New Zealand Qualifications Authority
- Tertiary Education Commission.
We are co-monitors with:
- the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment for Education New Zealand, and
- the Tertiary Education Commission.
What we do
Approach
We maintain a high-trust and no-surprises approach.
We keep a good relationship with Crown entities through active and open engagement about:
- financial and non-financial performance
- risks and challenges
- sustainability
- board appointments.
Advice
We provide advice to the Minister of Education and Associate Ministers on:
- quarterly entity performance
- board appointments
- statutory accountability documents.
This is to provide assurance to Ministers and support entity-driven continuous improvement.
Our advice considers past and future events and is strengthened by sharing information with Crown entities.
The reports are part of the regular information releases on our website.
