Creatives in Schools programme continues

The Creatives in Schools programme is continuing in 2021, with Round 2 projects set to start this year.

A total of 143 schools and kura were selected for Round 2 of the Creatives in Schools programme, which involves teachers and kaiako working together with creative professionals to deliver learning experiences that stimulate students’ creativity, enhance their wellbeing and inspire them to explore careers in the arts and creative sectors.

Of the Round 2 projects, 10 are from kura and one is from a New Zealand Sign Language school. They will start implementing their projects this year.

This announcement follows the 34 projects announced in the first round of the programme in 2020. Despite the impact of COVID-19, Round 1 schools and kura were able to complete their projects towards the end of last year, with a few set to finish in 2021.

Creatives in Schools is delivered in partnership with the Ministry for Culture and Heritage (MCH) and Creative New Zealand (CNZ).
