About NZ's network of schools
New Zealand’s 2,500 schools make up the network of schools. We look after all state and state-integrated schools in 10 regions across the country. Each region has smaller local networks of schools.
School network regions
Each region is growing and changing in different ways.
Boards of schools and kura
Find out about the boards, what they do, how they work, resources and support.
Community conversations
About holding consultations, covering the process, roles and responsibilities, timeframes, and best practice.
Statutory consultations about schools
Statutory consultations are when boards or the Ministry of Education consult formally with school communities. Sharing views and listening to ideas helps ensure schools are in the best shape to offer quality education opportunities for our children and young people.
