Keeping your personal information secure

We collect some personal information directly from you. We also receive information about you from your school (or other education provider).

We will use your Learner Identity Broker information to authorise your access of applications for your online learning. We will share your information with digital services that use Learner Identity Broker to allow you to access online learning applications and services.

All personal information remains stored in the school’s IT system (onsite or online). The very limited information shared by a school with the Ministry for Learner Identity Broker is stored in the Ministry’s Azure service in Australia.

Any personal information you supply will only be used by the Ministry and the third-party service providers who support the Learner Identity Broker service as permitted by the Privacy Act 2020.

Your personal information will not be disclosed to any third party except as authorised under the Privacy Act 2020 or other Act of Parliament.

Viewing and correcting of personal information

You have the right to access your personal information which we hold. You also have the right to request the correction of personal information held about you if you think it is wrong.
