The purpose of an enrolment scheme in a state school is:
- to avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, at the school and
- to ensure the selection of applicants for enrolment at the school is carried out in a fair and transparent manner and
- to enable the Secretary to make the best use of existing networks of State schools.
The proposed scheme would become effective for enrolment in 2025. A copy of the proposed scheme is available below.
As part of this process, we are formally consulting with whānau living in the area for which the school is a reasonably convenient school. Please note, an enrolment scheme may affect which school a student will be entitled to enrol in.
Please provide any comments about the proposed Waitara High School enrolment scheme that you would like to be included in the final report.
Once all submissions have been collated, we will work with the Waitara High School Board to make amendments deemed appropriate to address any concerns.
