Overview#

We are pleased to share information regarding a proposed enrolment scheme for Te Kura Rau Iti, a new contributing primary school planned to open in Term 1 2026, at 121 Murphys Road, Flat Bush, Auckland.

To ensure that local students have access to our new school and to manage the roll effectively, we have developed a proposed enrolment scheme in consultation with the local network of schools. We are now seeking your feedback on this proposed scheme.

Purpose of enrolment schemes#

Enrolment schemes are used in New Zealand schools to manage roll growth and provide priority access to students who live within a defined geographical area, known as the school zone.

Proposed enrolment scheme for Te Kura Rau Iti#

The Ministry of Education has developed an enrolment scheme for Te Kura Rau Iti to define its school zone. We encourage you to review the details of this proposed zone and provide your feedback.

Proposed amendment to Te Uho o Te Nikau#

As part of the introduction of Te Kura Rau Iti's enrolment scheme, some adjustments to the enrolment scheme of Te Uho o Te Nikau are also proposed.

It is proposed that Murphys Park Drive will become the new boundary separating the zones of Te Kura Rau Iti and Te Uho o Te Nikau School. Additionally, the East boundary of Te Uho o Te Nikau School is being clarified on the map to accurately reflect the current road layout. This clarification is not intended to change the existing zone but rather to ensure the written description aligns with the actual road network.

The enrolment zone for Alfriston School is proposed to remain unchanged. However, there will be an overlap between the proposed zone of Te Kura Rau Iti and the existing zone of Alfriston School. This means that some addresses may fall within the zones of both schools.
