Overview

The proposed amendment removes an area southwest of the school (between Kihikihi Road (SH 3), Park Road, and Golf Road) from the school’s home zone.

The proposed change is intended to reduce the pressure on the Te Awamutu Primary School roll, resulting from significant growth in the Te Awamutu township. The removed area sits within Pekapekarau School’s existing enrolment zone.

Information

The proposed amendment includes provision for additional entitlement to enrol under Section 75 of the Education and Training Act.

Section 75: Additional entitlement to enrol in certain circumstances – New Zealand Legislation

The amendment would also change the boundary at Riverhurst Drive to reflect the wording of the home zone description. This is for clarity only.
