Tuition fees and compulsory course costs
This page includes information on the Annual Maximum Fee Movement policy, which regulates how much fees for domestic students can increase each year, and fee setting limits for new courses. It also includes information on fee capping limits for micro-credentials introduced for 2021.
Fees-free initiatives
The Government supports a range of fees-free initiatives. This page includes information on fees-free for Foundation Education, Youth Guarantee fees-free and Māori and Pasifika Trades Training. It also includes information on the Fees Free policy for people undertaking tertiary education or training for the first time, and the Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund, which was introduced in July 2020 to support the recovery from the economic impact of COVID-19.
