Working while studying

You can work full-time or part-time while studying, as long as your contract covers your entire study period. If you work part-time, any study leave employer contributions from your study award will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

You will need to send an employer support form signed by your employer.

If you change jobs, you must let us know as soon as possible. Your new employment must meet the requirements of your study award, and your new employer must be willing to support your study award. Ask your new employer to sign the employer support form and send it to us.

Reducing your study workload

The expectation of the course and the study awards is that you will complete 2 papers per year for 2 years.

In exceptional circumstances, you may be allowed to study 1 paper per year. If you want to reduce the number of papers you are studying, contact us.

Taking a break from your studies

If you need to put your studies on hold, you must tell the university and us. Study award offers are valid for 2 years. You can ask for a study break for up to a maximum of 1 year.

You may also be required to repay funds if payments have already been made.

Contact Massey University for more information about changing your study.
