Master of Specialist Teaching (AoDC) – Massey University
What the award covers
The study award provides funding for relief staff to cover your workload for up to 45 days. The funding is based on (pro-rata) your full-time equivalent status.
It also covers:
- the full amount of your domestic tuition fees (paid to Massey University)
- 5 study leave days per year to study New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL).
Who can apply
Advisers on Deaf Children (AoDC) can apply for this award.
You must:
- be permanently employed by us as an AoDC
- have rights to live and work in New Zealand
- hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Who cannot apply
You cannot get this award if:
- you are not accepted into Massey University's Master of Specialist Teaching (AoDC)
- we have previously provided you with funded support for your AoDC training – you will need to re-take any failed papers at your own or your lead school’s expense.
