What the new classroom grant is for

New classroom grants help schools and kura buy teaching and learning materials for new classrooms. The grant is additional to funding for furniture and equipment.

Who can get the new classroom grant

State schools get this grant when they have new classrooms built due to an increased roll or staffing entitlement. State-integrated schools get this grant when they have new classrooms funded through the capital assistance programme.

School and kura do not need to apply for this grant. Eligible schools and kura will receive it in their quarterly operational funding payment.
