Lease agreements

Schools sometimes lease property to a tenant who is not another education institution or a casual user. Schools must fill out our third-party occupancy application form for these types of leases. Send the form to your property advisor.

Solar panels

Solar panels that are not owned by the school board or by us must have a lease agreement. This must be negotiated between us and the company providing the solar panels. Contact your property advisor if you want to get solar panels that will be owned by someone else.

Third-party providers must meet our minimum terms.

Process for approval

We will review your application. If we approve the proposal, we'll send you an agreement to sign. If you want to make changes, they must be agreed between the board, the third party and us before you sign a changed agreement.

The board and third party should both sign the agreement and send it to us. Once it has been consented by the Secretary, we will return a fully signed copy to you. The agreement is not valid until it has been consented.

If we need more information, or don't approve the proposal, we will contact you for more information or an explanation of our decision.
