Types of dental clinic arrangement
Health New Zealand provides oral health services at many schools. There are different arrangements for dental clinics (or oral health services).
Examples of these are:
- fixed dental clinic, either owned by us or Health New Zealand
- mobile unit with a permanent pad at your school
- mobile dental unit with no permanent pad, known as a level one dental unit
- mobile dental unit run by a private contractor.
Standard lease agreements
We use this agreement for clinics that are owned by us or Health New Zealand. The original agreement cannot be changed.
We provide standard lease agreements for:
- clinics that are fixed in place
- mobile clinics that have a permanent site at your school.
Concrete pads are for mobile clinics only. You cannot build on concrete pads or use the pad for another purpose.
To set up a standard lease, contact your property advisor.
Casual use agreement for temporary clinics
You can use this agreement for mobile clinics. It applies for clinics that are managed by Health New Zealand or are run by private providers. Private providers are contracted by Health New Zealand and supply all their own equipment.
Mobile units are parked at the school for a few days to a year. They are used for X-Rays and some treatments, but not for drilling and filling.
Casual agreements can be negotiated by the school board.
This license cannot be changed. It allows you to charge a fee of $10.00, but you cannot charge any other rent or payments.
Your school board must send the signed licence to us.
